STEP 1: Before going in to get your hair colored Know what level your natural hair color is . . .
Hair color starts off by identifying the "level" or darkness of the hair. Whether you're talking about your natural color or choosing a new color, the first step is to understand and choose how dark the hair is. Standard hair color levels are defined on a scale of 1 to 10 with level 1 being the darkest, blackest color and level 10 being a very light blond color.
The lightest platinum blonde colors are often referred to as level 11, 12, or even 13.
STEP 2: schedule a consultation to CHOSE THE DESIRED LEVEL YOU'D LIKE TO ACHIEVE WITH YOUR STYLIST.
THIS IS WHY CONSULTATIONS ARE VERY IMPORTANT, ALWAYS MAKE TIME IN YOUR SCHEDULE TO VISIT YOUR STYLIST BEFOREHAND TO CONSULT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MAKING A SEPARATE APPOINTMENT FOR A CONSULTATION BEFORE SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT FOR A COLOR SERVICE.
THIS IS A HUGE COMMITMENT TO MAKE, IT'S NOT SOMETHING YOU DECIDE TO DO OVERNIGHT.
AT OUR SALON PRESERVING THE INTEGRITY OF YOUR HAIR IS SOMETHING WE TAKE VERY SERIOUSLY.
The next topic I will be writing about will be the underlying pigments of the natural hair scale and what the stages of lightening truly look like.
